Common questions
How can I get protection from family violence in Singapore?
You can apply to the Family Justice Courts for a Personal Protection Order (PPO), which restrains a family member from using family violence against you. In urgent cases the court can grant an Expedited Order, and it can also exclude the abuser from your home or order them to stay away or stop contacting you. Since 2 January 2025, family violence expressly includes emotional and psychological abuse.
